Class of 2026 Reflects
What makes a Cadet choose one of the Department of Geography and Earth Science’s three majors?
In this video above, we asked the Army’s newest Second Lieutentants from the Class of 2026 to reflect on their 47-month leadership experience and time in the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences. From unforgettable trip sections and “aha!” epiphanies in and out of the classroom to the profound impact of faculty mentorship, they pull back the curtain on the culture that makes GEO great.
They discuss how mastering technical skills like GIS, remote sensing, and environmental modeling prepared them for the complexities of the operational force. They explain how analyzing the geographic factors behind global conflicts has sharpened their critical-thinking skills and how working with each other and faculty mentors helped develop them into leaders of character.
If you are a Cadet interested in learning more about our majors in Environmental Science, Geography, and Geospatial Science, we encourage you to reach out to one of our Department’s Academic Counselors for more information!
